My educational background is built upon a strong liberal arts foundation starting with triple majors in History, Humanities and Photography with a Bachelor’s of Science and a Masters of Arts in Teaching, both from Jacksonville University. I’m currently a Ph.D. student at UT Tyler studying Organizational Change Management. I’ve continued over the years as a continuous learner obtaining a Project Management Masters Certificate from George Washington University/ESI and a Graduate Certificate in Total Quality Management from Marymount University. In addition, I hold a variety of professional certifications from the Project Management Institute, American Society for Quality, Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org, Pragmatic Marketing, as well as being an Organizational Change Practitioner.
My work experience includes 20 years with the US Coast Guard Reserve (enlisted as an E-1 in High School and retired as a Lieutenant Commander); and 20 years with companies such as Merrill Lynch, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CSX, State Farm, EMC, Discover Financial Services, Capital One, Insight, CROSSMARK and most recently as the founder of The Gomel Group, an IT consultancy.
